The Pyrenex men's page brings together the down house of Saint-Sever: Vintage Mythic, Goldin, Helium and Impulse jackets, Spoutnic Mini Ripstop hooded jackets, sleeveless jackets John and Spoutnic, hooded models and Gomma beanie. A down expertise that originated in the Landes in the 19th century.
In 1859, in Saint-Sever, in the Landes region, Abel Crabos begins to collect goose and duck feathers at local markets and farms. Over the generations, the family specializes in working with down.
In 1940, the company produces its first puffer jackets. The name Pyrenex, adopted later, refers to the nearby Pyrenees.
The Vintage Mythic, with a hood, takes inspiration from an archive silhouette of the brand, featuring large down compartments.
The Goldin and the Helium, both with hoods, combine warmth with an urban look, ideal for winters in the city.
The Impulse has a sportier, lighter look that’s easy to wear.
The Spoutnic, made from ripstop fabric with a grid pattern, resists snags. It comes in both hooded and sleeveless versions.
The John and the sleeveless Spoutnic keep your torso warm under a coat or over a sweater. A sleeveless hooded model rounds out the range.
The Gomma beanie from Pyrenex completes a winter outfit, matching the puffer jacket.
Down traps still air between its filaments, and this air insulates against the cold. The more it expands, the warmer it keeps you while being lightweight. However, it needs to be protected from prolonged moisture.
Try on the puffer jacket over a thick sweater. It should close without pulling, with sleeves that cover the wrists. A sleeveless layering puffer should fit more snugly.
Wash the puffer jacket at a low temperature, using a special down detergent, and tumble dry on a gentle cycle with drying balls. Off-season, hang it in a dry place.
For other puffer jackets, check out the pages Taion and Krakatau. Other brands can be found in the men's clothing by brand.
