The Taion page brings together the Japanese brand of lightweight down jackets: sleeveless down jackets with a V-neck, basic or military styles, corduroy gilets, reversible Boa jackets, short down jackets Coach, Mountain, and the Non Down range, without down, in reversible jackets and shorts. These pieces are designed to be layered.

Taion, “body temperature”

Founded in Tokyo, Taion takes its name from the Japanese word for body temperature. The brand focuses on one product: the lightweight down jacket, designed to be worn as a base layer under a coat or jacket, as well as on its own.

The sleeveless V-neck down jacket

The iconic model from Taion is the sleeveless V-neck down jacket. Thin and light, it fits under a blazer, a denim jacket, or a thin coat. It comes in a basic, zip-up, or button version.

The military style

The Military vests and down jackets are inspired by uniform jackets, featuring khaki colours and pockets. The short military-style jacket rounds off this range.

The corduroy and Boa jacket

The corduroy vest adds a warm and soft texture. The reversible Boa jacket has down on one side and looped material on the other, offering two jackets in one.

Coach and Mountain

The short Coach down jacket resembles a coach's jacket. The sleeveless Mountain and the reversible Boa Mountain down jackets are aimed at more outdoor use.

The Non Down range

The Non Down line replaces down with synthetic fill that retains heat even when damp. It comes in a reversible sleeveless jacket and shorts, perfect for outings in cooler weather.

How to wear a Taion?

  • Under a blazer: a sleeveless V-neck down jacket, invisible.
  • Under a coat: a warm layer that doesn't bulk up.
  • Over a shirt: a corduroy or military vest.
  • On its own: a Coach down jacket or a Boa jacket.

Down or Non Down?

Down offers the best warmth-to-weight ratio and compresses very well. The synthetic Non Down retains heat better in the rain and dries faster. The choice depends on the climate and usage.

Choosing your size

To wear a Taion under a jacket, choose a fitted size. To wear it on its own, go for a looser fit. The armholes of the sleeveless models shouldn't be tight.

Care

Follow the label: most can be washed at low temperatures and dried gently. Down models regain their fluffiness in a tumble dryer on a gentle setting with drying balls.
