The Autry women's page brings together sneakers from the Texan brand: the Medalist, its iconic tennis shoe, available in leather or low version, the Reelwind, Windscape and Windspin, and the 01 Low in goat leather. White trainers with a 1980s look, recognizable by their American flag.
The brand Autry was founded in 1982 in Dallas, Texas, by Jim Autry. It initially made tennis, running, and aerobics shoes, and enjoyed its heyday in the 1980s.
After a long hiatus, the brand was relaunched with a reissue of its flagship model, before gaining an international audience.
The Medalist is the tennis shoe that made Autry famous. White leather upper, American flag patch on the tongue, slightly aged rubber sole: a retro sneaker that goes with almost anything.
The lower version, Medalist Low, further lightens the silhouette.
The Reelwind, Windscape, and Windspin draw inspiration from the brand's running shoes. Their suede and nylon inserts and more varied colours give them a sportier look than the Medalist.
The 01 Low comes in cowhide and goatskin, which is softer and has a finer grain. A minimalist sneaker that can be worn like a city shoe.
The white Autry sneakers go well with straight jeans, a flowy dress, or a suit. Their clean and retro look balances an elegant outfit while keeping it casual.
The Medalist fits quite standard. If you're unsure, try it on with the socks you'll wear: the leather stretches a bit with wear.
Wipe the white leather with a damp cloth after each outing, and occasionally nourish it with a colourless cream. The suede parts should be brushed dry. Clean the sole with a brush and soapy water.
