The Sebago women's page brings together the classics from the Maine brand: Classic Dan moccasins, available in smooth leather, metallic or with a Lug sole, Classic Will and Classic Joe, Madison, and Portland boating shoes, Ranger in oily leather and Sandy. Stitched shoes that go from the office to the seaside.
The Sebago brand was founded in 1946 in Westbrook, Maine, by Daniel J. Wellehan and his partners. It is named after the nearby lake Sebago. Its first product was a hand-stitched penny loafer, which remains one of its best-selling models.
In 1970, the brand launched the Docksides, which named an entire family of boat shoes.
The Classic Dan is a penny loafer: a leather strap crosses the top of the foot. Hand-stitched, it comes in smooth leather and more original versions.
The Dan Lug rests on a thicker, lugged sole for a contemporary look. The Dan Met features metallic leather. The Dan Flesh Out plays with reversed leather.
The Classic Will and Classic Joe reinterpret the spirit of the loafer in different lines. The Madison, more feminine, completes the range.
The Portland boat shoe, shown here in Met version, features a moccasin construction with a leather lace that goes around the foot. The Ranger, in oiled leather, develops a patina quickly. The Sandy and the Ales round out the summer offering.
A Classic Dan with rolled-up jeans and a sailor top, with tailored trousers at the office, with a midi dress and thin socks. A boat shoe pairs well with shorts, white trousers or a linen dress.
A leather loafer stretches with wear: choose a snug fit from the start. If in doubt, the smaller of the two sizes is usually the right one.
Brush your loafers, nourish the leather with a cream and polish them from time to time. A shoe tree helps maintain their shape. The oiled leather of the Ranger benefits from a suitable balm.
For other loafers, check the women's loafers section and the Clarks Originals page. All brands can be found in the women's shoes by brand section.
