The Dickies page brings together the workwear from the Texan brand: Streetsboro and Vernal 13-inch work shorts, 11-inch 993 shorts, Pelican Rapids bermuda, Hickory jackets, Union Barn and denim jackets, Duck Canvas Chore coat, striped work shirt, overalls, Oakport and Ruston sweatshirts.

Dickies, from Texas to streetwear

The story of Dickies began in 1922 in Fort Worth, Texas, when two cousins, C. N. Williamson and E. E. Dickie, took over a overalls factory. The brand initially dressed farmers and workers, with clothes designed to withstand wear and tear.

Its 874 work trousers, made from polyester and cotton twill, have become a cult classic, embraced by skate and streetwear.

Work shorts

The shorts Dickies are chosen by their inseam length: the Streetsboro and Vernal at 13 inches, long and roomy, the 993 at 11 inches, shorter. The Pelican Rapids cargo shorts and the Slim Fit complete the range.

Jackets

Hickory

The Hickory jacket features a fine vertical hickory stripe, typical of old American workwear.

Union Barn and Duck Canvas Chore

The Union Barn, barn jacket, and the Duck Canvas Chore coat, made from thick stone-washed canvas, are built to last and develop character over time.

The denim jacket

The Dickies denim jacket adds a denim touch to the collection.

Shirts, overalls, and sweats

The multicoloured striped work shirt, the Redhawk overalls, and the Oakport hooded zip sweat and Ruston complete the workwear wardrobe.

Putting together a workwear outfit

  • Summer: 13-inch shorts, t-shirt, sneakers.
  • Mid-season: Hickory jacket or Union Barn over a sweat.
  • Winter: Duck Canvas Chore coat, work trousers, boots.

The Duck Canvas

Duck Canvas is a thick cotton fabric, historically used for workwear. Initially stiff, it softens and develops a nice patina over time.

Choosing your size

The Dickies shorts are chosen by waist size. Loose cuts, like the 13 inches, sit below the knee. Check the size guide for each model.

Care

Wash cotton items at 30 or 40 degrees, inside out. The Duck Canvas is rarely washed to maintain its patina. Air dry to prevent shrinking.
